Garbage Can Cleaning in KW Surrounding Areas

We Clean Garbage Cans started out serving Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, and Guelph, but as we’ve grown, we’ve added routes into the surrounding communities of Ayr, Elmira, Wilmot, and Wellesley. These areas got the same new black garbage cans and green organics cans as the rest of Waterloo Region in March 2026, and the same cleaning problem that comes with them. We handle it for $20 a month, both cans, no contracts.

How Garbage Can Cleaning Works

We show up on your garbage day after your cans have been emptied, clean them at the curb, and leave. You do not need to be home. You do not need to do anything. Your cans just need to be out and accessible.

Our truck runs a high-pressure hot water system that washes, sanitizes, and deodorizes both cans. We use eco-friendly products that are safe for kids, pets, and the street. The dirty water is captured in a closed-loop filtration system and reused. Nothing goes into the storm drain or down your driveway.

Both your black garbage can and your green organics can are included in the $20. That is it. No extras, no surprises.

Why Now

Your green organics can goes out every single week. That is by design — organic waste is the priority under the new system. But it is also the messiest, most bacteria-prone material going into any residential garbage can. Food scraps, meat packaging, whatever didn’t quite seal in the bag — it settles at the bottom and stays there. The Region of Waterloo is straightforward about this: keeping the cans clean is the homeowner’s responsibility.

Right now, that’s easy to ignore. The cans are still fairly new. But once summer heat gets to work on that residue, the lid traps it in, and bacteria multiply fast in a warm, dark, enclosed space. A can that’s never been cleaned becomes a real problem fast.

Guelph has had garbage cans for over a decade and we’ve seen what happens to some cans that aren’t cleaned for years. Getting started now, wherever you are in Ayr, Elmira, Wilmot, or Wellesley, keeps your cans from ever getting there.
